Van Helsing's restart has simply taken a giant step ahead

With no plot details available, it is currently unclear how this new version of Van Helsing will differ from previous adaptations, but it will take quite a lot of effort considering how many times we've seen the character on the big screen. The Hugh Jackman blockbuster marked the first time a film had the character center stage, but the role was played by a number of legends including Peter Cushing (1958 Dracula), Laurence Olivier (1979 Dracula), and Anthony Hopkins (Bram Stoker) Dracula) and Christopher Plummer (Dracula 2000). It's also worth noting that Dracula's greatest enemy has had a fairly strong presence on small screens in recent years too, thanks in particular to the Syfy series, which launched in 2016.
