Tremendous Nintendo World Theme Park Rides, opening date introduced

Universal Studios Japan announced today that they will hold the opening of the world first Super Nintendo World on February 4, 2021. This new date comes after a delay last summer and a more general release in spring 2021 that was announced in the fall. The video game-inspired theme park was designed to "bring to life a highly themed and fascinating land of Nintendo's legendary worlds, characters and adventures for guests to play in their favorite Nintendo games." The newly planned opening opens the celebration of the park's 20th anniversary. Further details and pictures from the press release follow below:

Super Nintendo World Slice

Super Nintendo World features Mario Kart and Yoshi-themed rides and attractions, plus restaurants, shops, and other experiences, some of which are listed in the video above and "only found at Universal Studios Japan. The colorful and interactive area offers a new one." A theme park experience where guests can immerse themselves in the world with a power-up band. This innovative technology brings gameplay to life and allows guests to earn points. The world of Nintendo games comes alive! Sneak Peek of Bowsers Castle released

Images of one of the icons of the new area, Bowser's Castle, were released for the first time today. The interior of the castle has a mysterious atmosphere with stone walls, barbed fences and heavy iron doors, plus a massive stone statue of Bowser in the middle of a large staircase. The statue's mighty size makes it feel like Bowser is suddenly starting to move.

“At the heart of the castle is the world's first Mario Kart theme park ride based on the Mario Kart game series that has sold over 150 million units. Universal Creative has partnered with Nintendo to bring a real racing adventure to Universal Studios Japan with Mario Kart: Koopa's Challenge! The guests put on their headsets, which guide them through the Mario Kart universe to experience endless excitement and thrills, ”he explained Thomas Geraghty, Sr. Director, Innovation & Global Executive Producer for Mario Kart.

The world's first interactive ride with the Mario Kart theme park at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD will immerse guests in the world of Nintendo. The guests race through the legendary Mario Kart tracks with their favorite Nintendo characters and are transported into the Nintendo worlds, in which they not only play the game, but actually immerse themselves in the game. You will steer into the Mushroom Kingdom and throw clams as you run to the finish line with Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach! Win or lose, every race is a brand new, life-size Mario Kart experience.

Universal Studios Japan has partnered with the Universal Creative team and the Nintendo creative team, including the Nintendo Representative Director Fellow Shigeru Miyamoto to create the world's first interactive Mario Kart theme park ride on the SUPER NINTENDO WORLD. Mario Kart: Koopa's challenge is brought to life through a powerful story and characters, advanced technology in augmented reality, projection mapping and screen projection combined with a physical set that recreates iconic environments in fantastic detail, only available at Universal Studios Japan.

SUPER NINTENDO WORLD will debut as the first multi-story land in Universal Studios Japan, where Peachs Castle and Bowsers Castle tower over the area. There are Mario Kart and Yoshi-themed rides and attractions, as well as restaurants, shops, and other experiences unique to Universal Studios Japan. It also offers guests a whole new kind of "Asobi" game experience in which they jump, hit? Blocks and collects virtual coins. Guests can buy a power-up tape in the country and sync it with their smartphone to keep track of their scores and compete with other park guests. At the Key Challenge attractions, guests can collect keys, collect character stamps, and more by using their entire body in dynamic activities across the country. Families and friends will unleash their passion to play in the new SUPER NINTENDO WORLD.

Mario Kart: Koopa's Challenge (Ride)

The world of Mario Kart and its courses come to life in the park with the latest technology! Guests will throw clams and take out opponents to advance with Mario and Princess Peach! The brand new life-size Mario Kart experience offers tons of thrills and excitement in the world's first Mario Kart driving experience.

Yoshi's Adventure (Ride)

Guests climb on Yoshi's back and follow Captain Toad on a treasure hunt! Captain Toad forgot his treasure map. Guests must find the 3 colored eggs that lead to the golden egg that Captain Toad was looking for. Guests can enjoy spectacular views of the Mushroom Kingdom from Mount Beanpole while having fun on this ride that is perfect for the whole family.
