The very best trip motion pictures on Hulu

Vacation films are all about warmth, love, togetherness and joy. On the other hand, it's also about family drama, revenge on exes and even cheesy memories from the 1980s. In short, vacation movies are a mix of whatever you want. Hulu has a pretty solid collection of vacation movies, and the list just keeps growing if you have the streamer's premium subscriptions to Live TV, HBO Max, Showtime, or Starz. For our selection of the best vacation movies on Hulu, all you need is the basic subscription.

Though vacation movies can cover all genres, the pick on Hulu is largely the cheesy romance movies, which are perfect to watch when you want a good, happy scream or just need a pick-me-up. The formula movies may be predictable in their happy ending, but that's more than okay on the holidays. Below are our picks for the best vacation movies on Hulu and pick the one you watch first when you've snuggled into your vacation PJs with a mug of hot cocoa in hand.

Happiest season

Hulu's new original vacation film for 2020, Happiest Season, has an extremely stacked cast. Kristen Stewart plays the friend who is brought home for the first time for Christmas only to find out that her friend wasn't exactly honest about her personal life. Mackenzie Davis plays the girlfriend, Dan Levy from Schitt & # 39; s Creek plays the fun best friend who comes to the rescue, Aubrey Plaza plays the distraction from it all, and Mary Steenburgen and Victor Garber are the quirky parents. Animated films may be hideous, but they are intended for everyone in the family. The winter-themed film shows three friends discovering a Yeti – Everest, of course – and embarking on the journey of a lifetime to bring it home to his family. This cute and uplifting movie will bring you the same comfort and joy that the holidays bring without worrying about any of the holidays. (Watch hulu)

The Christmas calendar

This is a Christmas movie so cute it will rot your teeth! Laura Bell Bundy plays Emily, a bakery owner who struggles to keep her business going. A very Brady Christmas

No Christmas season is complete without A Very Brady Christmas. Look, the 94-minute TV movie is about as cheesy as the Brady Bunch TV show is always, but that doesn't mean it's any less great. Shot in 1988, the vacation film brings all of the Brady children home and their families for Christmas. It's actually a comforting look at how her life turned out for her years later, and it's a must-have on vacation. (Watch hulu)

Girlfriends from the Christmas past

Pretty Little Liars' Tammin Sursok is dumped just before Christmas. Talk about a crap. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, she decides to take revenge on her ex. After hooking up with two of his other ex-girlfriends, the three of them set out to bring him the worst Christmas ever. Of course, there are other hijinks and a bit of Christmas. (Watch hulu)

The spirit of Christmas

All Kate wanted to do was sell the inn – she had no idea a ghost lived there. During her snow-covered Christmas stay at the idyllic inn, she meets the captive, handsome ghost and tries to help him find out how he died. This movie is cute, if not a little absurd, but it will give you the ghostly warm fuzzies! (Watch hulu)

Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding

The sequel to Lifetime & # 39; s Merry Liddle Christmas is the winter wedding that Jacquie and Tyler dreamed of … kind of. The couple, played by Kelly Rowland and Thomas Cadrot, have big plans for a destination wedding, but planning isn't going smoothly – in fact, the wedding planner is giving up thanks to the stress of the bride's family. So is the wedding actually happening? You have to see the movie to find out. (Watch hulu)

This Christmas

As the movie's tagline goes, "There's nothing like the holidays that make you come home and nothing like your relatives making you wish you hadn't." This all-too-real vacation film shows exactly what it's like to come home on vacation, where everything is a little different from how you left … and so are the people. The cast of this film is huge from top to bottom, with names like Idris Elba, Regina King, Columbus Short, Mekhi Phifer, and more. (Watch hulu)

A tough job

As part of Hulus Into the Dark collection, A Nasty Piece of Work brings the horror genre for Christmas. Little did they know when two men (and their significant other) were invited to a dinner party that the evening's entertainment would be a survival game … literally. The eccentric horror even has Christmas music playing as background noise while blood flies around screaming and trying to drown it out. Merry Christmas indeed. (Watch hulu)

Feliz Navidad

You have to love a pun! Mario Lopez stars as a single father in this Lifetime movie. Not only is he the headmaster, he's an all-round decent guy. Of course, his child would like to furnish it during this holiday season. While dad's path to love is pleasant, if not a little sugar-sweet, his relationship with his daughter steals the show. (Watch hulu)

The man who invented Christmas

Do you know the story behind the most iconic Christmas story? The man who invented Christmas is just that. Dan Stevens plays Charles Dickens while writing A Christmas Carol. A young Dickens takes inspiration from all around him, including imagining Christopher Plummer's character as the memorably grumpy Ebenezer Scrooge. He dreams of what would one day become the most famous Christmas story, told every year through different media. Though completely fictionalized, we like to think that this movie could be at least partially true. The rest … well, that's just the magic of Christmas. (Watch hulu)
