The Masked Singer: Russian Dolls Sing ‘Shallow’ In Season 5 Video (And It is Precisely the Fever Dream You Would Count on)
The Masked Singer is getting ready for season five – and here’s a sneak peek to prove it.
One of the contenders for Fox’s bizarre singing contest for the coming season is Russian Doll, whose costume allows the slightest movement – a puppet-style mouth with a lower jaw that opens and closes.
You can get a good look at the … innovative new Masked Singer entry by checking out the full performance below, which Fox released on Tuesday. In the clip, Russian Doll and a friend play “Shallow,” the Grammy and Oscar-winning Lady Gaga-Bradley Cooper ballad. (You really didn’t live until you saw that little mouth flutter up and down to everyone “la-la-laaaa”.)
In addition to the previously announced addition of wildcard entrants to this season’s gameplay, Fox also unveiled Cluedle-Doo (see below) on Tuesday, a giant rooster that will mess with the judges and provide new clues about the players’ identities.
The Masked Singer returns on Wednesday March 10th at 8 / 7c for season five. Niecy Nash (Claws) will host the first episodes as a guest, as regular host Nick Cannon tested positive for COVID-19 in early February.
