Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden check optimistic for coronavirus
Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden have tested positive for coronavirus, according to a statement by the Swedish royal court told Reuters.
Carl Philip, fourth on the throne, and his wife Sofia are "comfortable under the circumstances". King Charles XIV. Gustaf, Queen Silvia, the prince's older sister Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel is also being tested. The family members were together at a funeral for Queen Silvia's brother last week, Walther Sommerlath. People said pre-event testing was done and social distancing was enforced.
In April, Sofia stepped forward to help nurses during the health crisis. She completed an intensive online training program and started work at Sophiahemmet Hospital.
"Princess Sofia is not only Sophia's honorary chairman, but is now also working with us," the hospital confirmed on Instagram. "This happens after completing our basic nursing training, which was developed to relieve the health staff, who are now heavily burdened."
