Marvel Woman: The CW improvement sequence about Latina DC Superhero

The Arrowverse makes way for a potentially wonderful addition.

The CW is developing Wonder Girl, a one-hour drama about the DC character Yara Flor, a Latina dreamer who descends from an Amazonian warrior and a Brazilian river god, reports our sister site Deadline. Yara takes on the title Wonder Girl and uses her new powers to fight evil and save the world.

It's worth noting that the Wonder Girl name was given to a buddy or a younger version of Wonder Woman in the past – which would bring The CW dangerously close to having its own self-contained Justice League.

Dailyn Rodriguez (Queen of the South) will write the project, which comes from Berlanti Productions.

If Wonder Girl were to be featured on the series, it would join a rapidly evolving list of Arrowverse shows currently airing on The CW. Though flagship show Arrow ended its eight-season run earlier this year, the network still has The Flash (returning to season seven in February), DC's Legends of Tomorrow (returning to season six sometime in 2021), Supergirl (Return to season six and) final season sometime in 2021), Batwoman (return to season two with a new lead actress in January), Stargirl (now a CW-exclusive series that returns for season two in 2021), and newcomers Superman & Lois (Premiere in February).
