Jim Carrey steps down from Joe Biden's function at SNL
Jim CarreyTerm of office as elected President Joe Biden Live on Saturday night has come to an end.
On Saturday, December 19, more than a month after the US elections, the 58-year-old actor said goodbye on Twitter to the guest role he had played since October.
"Though my tenure was only supposed to be 6 weeks, I was thrilled to be elected your SNL President … comedy's ultimate duty," Carrey wrote. "I'd like to go forward and know that Biden was the winner because I did it. But I'm only one in a long line of proud fighting SNL Bidens!"
A source told E! News that Carrey should only play Biden by election. CNN reported that Carrey made the decision to end his role, citing his own source. The insider told the outlet that the actor would have found it difficult to travel back and forth for the show in the long term because he lives in Los Angeles and SNL films in New York.
