Dior refuses to dump Johnny Depp as Sauvage Gross sales Skyrocket

Johnny Depp He may have been fired from Fantastic Beasts 3 by Warner Bros., but Dion continues to stand by the actor after losing his libel case against The Sun earlier this month. This week, Depp was featured in an ad for the brand's Sauvage Cologne, which aired in the UK during the Great British Bake Off, suggesting he will remain the face of the fragrance. It's said he was paid somewhere between $ 3 million and $ 5 million for the TV commercial.

When Dior noticed Dior refusing to dump Depp like Warner Bros., they quickly jumped on social media to express their support for the company. "Johnny Depp is still Sauvage's face because Dior aren't idiots. Be like Dior," tweeted one fan, including the hashtag #JusticeForJohnnyDepp. Many other fan posts shared this opinion, with one praising Dior for "virtually being the only sponsor left for Johnny Depp who hasn't turned his back".

A poll tweeted by The Chic Geek emphasizes how much support Depp continues to have in the public eye, and directly asks followers if Dior should continue to use Depp in their advertising. With a total of 2,289 votes, 96.9% of the participants said "yes", only 2.8% voted "no".

Should @Dior still use #JohnnyDepp?

Still, not everyone was happy to see Depp on television so soon after losing his defamation suit. According to a spokesman for the Advertising Standards Authority, the group received a total of 11 complaints about the ad, with "complainants believing that Johnny Depp should not appear in the ad due to details of his recent lawsuit". While getting complaints of any kind is never good, the sales that Dior brings in by being willing to Depp seems to far outweigh the 11 complaints.

In the days since Depp lost both his libel case and his role in Fantastic Beasts 3, Internet searches for Sauvage have reportedly increased 23%. Cologne is also the best-selling men's fragrance in The Fragrance Shop and on the bestseller list in The Perfume Shop. It seems that many of Depp's fans are feeling more inspired to financially support him in the lawsuit that seriously jeopardizes his acting career.

The public drama between Depp and ex-wife Amber Heard began in 2018 when Heard made a statement claiming she was a victim of domestic violence. In an article published by The Sun, Depp was later referred to as a "bully". At this time, Disney is said to have released Depp from his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the series "Pirates of the Caribbean". Depp has since filed lawsuits against both Heard and The Sun over the allegations, recently losing the latter case along with his role in Fantastic Beasts 3 as Gellert Grindelwald.

In his defense, Depp insists that Heard was actually the one who physically abused him. During the litigation, Depp's attorneys released audio from Heard allegedly admitting violent behavior towards Depp. This has helped confirm Depp's version of events for many fans, spawn the # JusticeForJohnnyDepp movement, and inspire a petition to get Heard fired from Aquaman 2 – a campaign that garnered over a million and a half signatures. Petitions have also been filed to bring Depp back to both Pirates of the Caribbean and Fantastic Beasts 3.

Whether or not the petitions to bring Depp back to these franchises remain open remains to be seen, but for now he still has a home with Dior. This message comes to us from The Guardian.

You call out to Dior because he's practically the only sponsor for Johnny Depp who hasn't turned his back on him. He's still the face for her Cologne Sauvage and will definitely get me a bottle to show my support. # JusticeForJohnnyDepp # DiorSauvage

Dior was basically just telling The Sun to fuck herself with Johnny Depp's voice in this new ad and I'm totally here for it!

Dior Sauvage as Fragrance of the Year is a VERY well deserved award! ? It has such a great smell that they absolutely nailed it.
Oh and by the way. Johnny Depp as the face of perfume? FABULOUS, WONDERFUL advertising. Kudos to @Dior. This is how a confident company deals with things.

Yesterday when I saw Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, I saw Johnny Depp's @ Dior Sauvage ad within the first 30 minutes. It was a great way to start the day. Thank you @Dior for giving voice to male victims of DV by continuously supporting Johnny Depp.
